Direct tapping on any animal depends entirely on them and, particularly if they are sick or have an inappropriate behaviour, they can be less than happy to be tapped on. Being sick or having a behaviour you don’t like can be stressful both for people and for your pets.
The cats my family lives with are, luckily, very patient. The kitten in this video was glad to join in the tapping game, but you’ll note that the tapping was most effective when she was fully tuned into the behaviour.
